Ok so here's a looky at the SourBones not so Mini Munny i've been working on for the last coupla weeks. She's for the Toy Baroness's Birthday Charity Event - more info coming on that soon!
A lot of time and effort went into sculpting and sanding her... err various extra body parts and she's turned out beautifully (with particularly nice and shiny high heels) and in the end i really wanted to be able to keep her.
I think i might try and make a couple more similar to her but i think i'll wait for my customising injury to heal before trying again. This customising is a dangerous lark!

Sour Babe!
YHWH... WTF?...
I just followed a link from a link, and came across this awesome picture taken by the lovely Brian McCarty! The subject is Mark Ryden's first toy, YHWH, coming this summer from Necessaries Toy Foundation. The figure stands at 16" tall and has acrylic eyes. I really love Mark Ryden's work, I like its spooky characteristics, but i'm not sure that this toy really caputres his style, apart from just scareing me. Freaks me out thats for sure.. what do you guys think??
Holy Suckadelic...
New from Sucklord are these offerings. First up is the Suck Shark. In a tribute to JAWS, this hand-sculpted great white comes with a watery base for him to terrorize you from! Limited to just 40 pieces and costing only $45 I know these wont be available for long. This is the first color version out of four variants (STAR SHARK, THE PSYCH SHARK, and The SHIT SHARK) all coming this year!
Next up is the Miss Thing Bootleg, the latest installment in the dwindling bootleg series. Only 9 more in the so called "FINAL ELEVEN" to go. She is a 1950's style Gorrilla-robot hybrid, but with the soul of of a woman. Again only 40 availble at the bargain price of $35.
Last but not least is the Creature: Glo edition. This glow in the dark version is limited to 50 pieces and is available for just $30. This isn't being counted against the final eleven as it is a colour variant not a new figure.http://suckadelic.com/Realms2.html

"Bad Programming" Mecha Bear custom

Cris Rose has come up trumps again with a lovely custom based on Luke Chueh's Mecha Sad Bear. With a nod to Luke's classic Possessed toy while still retaining the mecha element, "Bad Programming" Bear bears the bloody marks of a rampage that was stopped by a a bloody hand pulling the 'off' lever on its back.

Sleep with one eye open....

Last night Metallica rocked my world!!
I have been a fan for many years, but never before seen them live. I’m not sure why I never went back in the 90’s, but its something I have always regretted. One of those bands you put in the ‘I wish I’d seen back in the day’ box, along with The Cure, AC/DC, Sabbath, The Wonderstuff, Pop Will Eat Itself…. in fact this could be quite a list, what with people like Michael Jackson, Otis Reading and Aretha Franklin. Anyway I digress.
Playing the NEC arena in Birmingham (arena’s instantly put me off, maybe the reason I never went to see them in the first place) I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Sure the new Album is awesome, but can they still pull off the live experience? I remember the days of Fire breathing Midgets, collapsing stage sets and pyrotechnics so large they burned James’ arm so bad he could play for the rest of the tour, and I was guessing that these days were over.

When we arrived I was glad to see the standing area (which I was in) wasn’t very big, and the dopest thing was that the stage was in the middle (not being an arena aficionado, I hadn’t experienced this before). Looking around I noticed the lighting rigs were in the shape of coffins echoing the cover of Death Magnetic, just thinking that it was a nice touch (not expecting what was to come later).
They arrive on stage to lasers, fire balls and the finale tune from the good the bad and the ugly. Coffin’s descending from the arena roof, like some alien war ships sent to do rock battle with the crowd. When these mother ships were lowered (they also pivoted out towards the crowd), the gig took on a whole other feel. It became an intimate show, like you were watching them for the first time in the back of some small bar. What I missed out on with the spectacular of the shows back in the day, was made up for by this feeling, that and being 5 in from the front, made you forget the other thousands of fans sitting around and behind you.

The gig climaxed with hundreds of varying sized Metallica branded beach balls being dropped on the crowed. The only disappointment of the evening (apart from how shit the camera on my iphone is, which I already knew) was the fact that I was so far in the pit, and I didn’t even get one injury, nothing (not that I really wanted one, you understand) I guess the fans are getting old. It did mean I could watch the show in peace, the only thing I had to put up with was the people around me farting… people should really show some consideration in such a small confined place ;) lol.

Long Reign Metallica, they definitely still have it!
Go Lucky Neko Series 1...
These cute little Go Lucy Neko Kittens will soon be ready to drop into your sticky fingers. Designed by Delme and standing at 3" tall, these figures will be arrive blind boxed, with one mystery chase figure (so i believe). Apparently they aren't quite ready, but not far off, and celebrations will be occuring to mark the launch (Yey can't wait).
The idea was taken from the poster Delme created for the Save Huck show, many moons ago. The 3D renders and prototypes were made by Dave Bondi. More info to come...

Introducing....
Harry is evil!!
I have been meaning to blog this for a while (how often to I say that?, but its very true). Anyway I received this email (the source i have removed, so as not to be sued!) which I thought was soo funny it was worth sharing with you all.... Enjoy!
Dear Clutter Magazine
My name is XXXX and I am 18 yearsold. Recently I read a letter where a reader spoke up against Harry Potter. As a Christian I wish to state that the Bible clearly tells us to have nothing to do with witchcraft.
When I was 14 years old I had the most terrible experience. For a long time I heard voices thatrepeated over and over: 'Harry must go.' As a Christian I would like to warn people who are crazy about Harry Potter. Rather stay away before you also have to experience the traumat hat I did.
I am praying for the salvation of everyone involved with Harry Potter some way or another. I've also sent e-mails to some of them to tell them that God loves them and that I will keep on praying for their salvation.
Kind regards
XXXXXX
Thing is I don't even remember ever mentioning Harry Potter ;)
Nobody does it better
Just spied this awesome new Mickey figure coming out from who else but Medicom. I love the Disney stuff they put out and its great that they get to do stuff like the Runaway Brain, The Roen Mummy and now this Frankenstein as well as the more traditional 'classic' character figs.

Dave Pressler "Pusher"
Taking Thomas Han's cutesy/creepy figure Pusher, animation guru Dave Pressler has created 2 customs for Munky King's Pusher DIY show opening on March 26th. These pieces will be available on the night and I reckon will be snapped up pretty quickly.
The show itself has a great line up of artists, including Clutter faves Urban Medium, Brandt Peters and Jesse Hernandez and two of my personal favourites, Elizabeth Ito and Mari Inukai.

Reactor88 for IWG custom show
The IWG custom show is lining up to be absolute corker...dare I say one of the best in years. Pictured here are Reactor88's "Totem Bear" showing his signature style and using the shape to great effect

SHEONE figure
London abstract artist SHEONE is well know for his work with Addict. Now it looks as if Garageworks (they of the Ron English "Grin" figure) are collaborating with him and Made by Monsters to create a vinyl figure. Only clue so far is this flyer for a gallery show/live painting that may or may not hint at the figure design...hoping it's not really as it looks distinctly average. Not that i'm entirely sure how you could do a SHEONE vinyl piece without it being totally separate from his usual body of work.
Ultimate Gundam
To celebrate the 30th anniversary of Gundam, a 59 foot (18m) 'life size' statue is going to be built in Tokyo's Odaiba distrcit Shiokaze Park. The Mobile Suit Gundam project will only stay up for 2 months during the celebrations and is built from fiberglass over a steel frame and plenty of win. Fifty points on the Gundam statue will emit light, and mist will shoot out of 14 different points on the statue. Wonder it it will be auctioned off afterwards?!
