Chuckboy "Cyborg" Dunny

KR president Paul Budnitz posted this intriguing image on his blog regarding a new Dunny Series called "2tone" with this particular figure designed by Chuckboy (he of the Reindeer Dunny and many amazing customs). According to Mr B, it will have another arm but at this stage it looks like Dunny meets Space Crusade, if anyone remembers that board game!

Skelanimal Qees are Almost Here

Toy2rusa.com is revealing a new design from their upcoming Skelanimals Qee series each day until their eventual release. For those of us that are impatient, here is what they look like as posted on their blog earlier this Summer. No word on an official street date just yet.

Many more artists and companies will be participating in this year's convention so check out www.newyorkcomiccon.com and add The Cultyard on Facebook to keep up to date with the latest info. The New York Comic Con runs from October 8th through the 10th at the Jacob Javits Center in NYC.

Toy2R Unveils Mini Qees

For all those artists out there, Toy2R is giving you more ways in which you can showcase your work. They have just revealed plans for a 5 inch Mini Qee DIY line, which will include all of the shapes you already know and love plus the brand new pumpkin head Qee! While the shape may be a little more limiting than the dog or cat, it should be interesting to see the creative designs people come up with to utilize the head.

Early September Releases from Kidrobot

Continuing their venture into the world of plush, Kidrobot offers their biggest one to date with the 24 inch Mustache Labbit from Frank Kozik. While I'm glad they went with the sweet 70's casanova look rather than the familiar cigarette, the $150 US price tag is a bit scary.

This is the first of two releases that were available in limited quantities at San Diego Comic Con. Any fan of the Simpsons will want to add this this nod to American fast food advertising to their collection, and for $39.95 US, the price is right for 6 inches of donut mascot.

This little dude was also available to SDCC attendees first but now can be yours for only $9.95 US. I'm sure the people that were paying upwards of $50 for this DJ Lance Rock Dunny on eBay feel a tad bit silly now.

All three of these releases will be available September 2nd.

On August 26th Sneaky Raccoon will take orders for signed versions of her brand new Dunny from the 2010 series. This is a great opportunity for collectors around the world to obtain a signed piece as she does not make as many appearances as some of her fellow designers.

Buff Monster's Destroyer

As seen on VinylPulse, this is the new figure from Buff Monster and The Loyal Subjects. TLS seems to be on a roll at the moment with their recent releases, really focusing on art toys now the likes of Mindstyle seem to have given up and Critterbox bit the dust.

This new figure "Destroyer" takes many familiar elements from Buff's work - demons, kaiju influences, drips, pentagrams - and fuses them similar to his Demon Seed figure a while back. This new piece however is much larger, standing at approx 14" to the point of the antlers, and featuring four points of articulation. It also has a nice addition of an additional character squirming out of it's back.

Limited to 399, this "Embrace the Darkness" version will be available for pre-order from next Monday, August 16th at noon PDT. Just head over to theloyalsubjects.com. And at $85 i'd say this represents decent value for money given its immense size.
